A DVD «How it was done in Odessa?» by Isaac Babel

This performance is amazing! It consists of contrasts: through merry, joyful, lambent stories by Isaac Babel about a well-known Odessa thief, Benya Krik, who became a revolutionist, and other merry and sad Odessa stories by Babel, a story of the writer himself, whose life was very satiated and mysterious, passed as a leitmotif.

Episodes from the feature film based on stories by Babel shot, when he was still alive almost 70 years ago, were used in the performance.
