NEW DVDs! Plays-hits of the 1st decade! -«The Petty Bourgeois Wedding»
«The Petty Bourgeois Wedding» by Bertolt Brecht recorded by the Central Television in 1989. Digital re-mastering of video image and sound, and transfering into the system of the Dolby Stereo by «Ilkhom-Art Media»

Let’s be happy with some surprise that the spectators may still watch the full-blooded life of a performance from the most stagnant years of the 70s that now is played by the third generation of ILKHOM players. A performance that then lived in ILKHOM’s interpretation in theatres of Bulgaria, Makedonia, and Russia, the performance that got loud cheers from spectators in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Norway, Yugoslavia, and from those of the former Central Television. ILKOM’s ‘Petty Bourgeois Wedding’ deserved a happy life. Ildar Mukhtarov. Historian’s View. «Unknown Well-Known ILKHOM»
«It is already five years since the Ruhr Festival is considered as European. As the performances show, these five years were very fruitful for the festival. A fresh example, «Petty Bourgeois Wedding» by Brecht, from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Medien-Spiegel, Recklinghauser Zeitung, 24.06.1996
... the production from 1979 which has not lost freshness, with an absence of any hint of dogmatism, presented to us highly musical tremendous actors, and with delicately balanced choreography... ... These petty bourgeoisies, whose material and moral facade collapse before our eyes literally, are actually not connected to any nationality, nor with any regime». WAZ, Germany 25.06.1996
«They sit as on a ring when suddenly the laughter sounds at the table where eternal petty bourgeoisies of «Petty Bourgeois Wedding» by Brecht are giving themselves up to greediness and drunkenness. ... It is clear, this is a piece of material which each director would force to dance wildly. But the brilliant ensemble from Uzbekistan, having a reputation of «dissident» in Brezhnev’ times, does not take the already blazed road. ... It is one of the most tremendous and depressing weddings which has ever been lived on stage from which the spectator receives enormous pleasure as well». Two weddings in Bitole. Ecran. Yugoslavia. September 21, 1989.
When shown in one night, does the same dramatic text performed by two ensembles, in two languages represent interest for the public? It appears that it does. It took place on September 15th, in the National Theatre of Bitole. When in front of an overfull house, and with a break of 45 minutes, two versions of «Petty Bourgeois Wedding» by B.Brecht, one ours and one Russian, were performed. Our version was performed by the ensemble of the Folk Theatre of Bitole... and the Russian version from the ensemble of The Ilkhom Theatre from Tashkent, USSR. Under the same text, both productions are staged by the same director. On September 18th, the audience again could see a theatrical unexpectedness. It has been declared before, and two editions of «Wedding» with a mixed ensemble have taken place - one version was performed by actresses of Bitole and their colleagues, male actors from Tashkent. The second performance consisted of actors of Bitole with actresses from Tashkent. Such interesting an event took place in Bitole». A story of one studio .Theatre, 1981. Natalia Kazmina
