A Presentation of «Ludmila s broken English» in London

It’s not true that there are always rains in London. Though this summer it was raining all the time…
In the end of June Toni Blair was leaving his post. New administration and authorities were met by series of terrorist acts. We were taking the subway and taking off in two steps from cordoned off by Police streets’ areas. Citizens of London daily read newspapers’ news about next explosion, we rehearsed a new production. The life of the biggest city of Europe continued as usually. The Shakespeare's Globe in the open storming air, inundated with the heavy rain, was full.

A presentation and a show of the first 2-weeks stage rehearsals of the «Ilkhom» Theater and Blow Up Theater took place in the popular in London «Lyric Hammersmith» Theater. David Farr (a photo from DVD of the Mark Weil’s film «The end of a century. Tashkent.»), Alan Cumming, a popular London cinema and theater actor («X-Men»), Anton Pakhomov, Saeed Khudaibergenov and DBC Pierre, the Booker Prize laureate, participated in rehearsals and the show. Books by Pierre (his nickname «DBC» means «Dirty, but Clean») are the mirror of the writer, who is an earthling and at the same time high-minded, ironic and woundable person. Entered into a rehearsal room, he held his hand out to the actress Alena Lustina, smiled and asked: «Ludmila?» Thus he immediately recognized and blessed a leading lady in the first staging of his new book.

Comment 3.
In spite of the heavy rain, a traditional (simultaneous with parades in all major cities of Europe) London «Pride» has taken place. The Pride is almost 30-years old history of the social-political movement aims to change legislation and, what is more important, social consciousness imbued with racism and gay-bashing. The parade is a parade of openness and demonstration of tolerance in respect of diversity and dissimilitude of people and their non-division into minorities and the main part of the society. This is also a participation of the mayor of London, major corporations, which support a political aspect of the Pride. Finally, this is a bright carnival and holiday of the whole city.
