Vasiliy YURYEV since 1984 has annually been participating in various theatrical and other exhibitions in Tashkent, StPetersburg and Moscow. He works as a easel painter and often creates extremely unexpected installations. One can find his works in private collections of many countries – Germany, Italy, The USA, France, Japan and others.

Out-of-stage YURYEV’s works – either easel paintings or installations – breath ultra-ordinary expression as well as… poetry.  They are lyrical and mesmerize with their energy – almighty power of the artist’s temperament.
YURYEV’s works are filled not only with admiration or fixed attention to architectonics– harmony of the nature and handmade constructions. They are filled with almost sexual sensuality. Even the most ‘peaceful’ landscapes – either Russian or Uzbek, colour and flower fantasies of Vasiliy are filled with magnetic inner, sexual energy– they gift, they nourish the space. The artist creates in them an atmosphere of optimism, kindness and a festival of beauty and emotions.

The element and the plasticity of the colours by YURYEV seethe and foam shattering the space. There in his paintings sounds music of all-triumphant power of Artistic Idea dovetailing into the character of each work like into a human personality. As for me, most of all I like those works of his where, besides all the other features, one can find slight hooliganism sparkling sometimes with a sort of sad humour.
