ALBEE. DIPTYCH. “WHAT HAPPENED AT THE ZOO. THREE TALL WOMEN”

January 9th, at the Ilkhom Theatre – given Tyler Polumsky’s (American alumni of Ilkhom’s 5th Studio) visit, we will present an exclusive showing of the play “What Happened at the Zoo?”, which together with “Three Tall Women” was part of a diptych production.
“What Happened at the Zoo?” Is a two-actor play, the collision of two polarizing worlds that found each other by chance on a Central Park bench in New York City. An intricate combination of comedy and drama, this story changes our traditional understanding of human interaction.

The subtle dialogues, the unique psychological duel between the two characters, Jerry and Peter – it’s an endless motive of wanting human contact, yearning to find a familiar soul, neither of which is possible to attain. These things are written out in Albee’s play with tragic power. The play premiered on October 22, 2005. Later, after Tyler’s departure to the homeland of the play, “What Happened at the Zoo?” was removed from the diptych, leaving only “Three Tall Women”.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the full version of the play and get acquainted with two of Edward Albee’s plays in one evening!
