“You Have the Floor!”

The Ilkhom invites creative performers of all kinds to take part in our new project “The Word for You”, which will be a monthly open mic event held at the theater.

This event is a great opportunity for participants to express themselves, find new friends, reveal their talents, and just have a great time.

When? Every 2nd Monday of the month at 19:00.

Where? In the exhibition hall of the theater.

Who can participate? musicians, poets, comedians, magicians, actors, singers, dancers, etc.

Host and Moderator: Judson Wright

Judson Wright is an MS in Linguistics and TESOL, a researcher in developing language learning and cultural integration opportunities for international students through drama and improvisation techniques. Judson has over twenty years of experience in community, semi-professional, and professional theater companies. He has regularly taught improvisation workshops for the past seven years in Miami, Florida (USA), and has participated in conducting workshops in various locations including the UK and South Korea for over ten years.

Performance time: 7 minutes maximum per participant

Performances can be in any language (in Russian, Uzbek, English, etc.)

Performers will have access to up to two microphones – one for the speaker, the second for any instrument or tool. Screen and projector are available if needed.

The context of performances should not include provocations on topics of politics, violence, and religion.

Performer numbers are limited! The registration list will be closed after 12 participants have left applications.
Those who apply to perform after registration is closed will receive priority at next month’s event.
