IN ONE LANGUAGE

On 28 February 28 at 2:00PM, the Ilkhom Theater will launch a monthly programme aimed at bringing together people of different generations: “In One Language”.

What is it for?

Many of my acquaintances complain that young people are different from us – that we do not share a common language. But it is up to us to reach out to the young people, to share the things that encourage and inspire us. To talk about our experiences, good or bad, to retell stories from our youth. To bring young people in with the power of art and spirit.

Who are we talking about?

Anyone who wants to communicate with teenagers and is ready to dive back into childhood. Ideally, a writer will talk about great classics or their favourite books, a musician will talk about their favorite band or opera, etc. The possibilities are endless.

The first meeting of the project will be held with Asian Games champion, international chess grandmaster, marathon runner, writer, blogger, and project founder Murtas Kazhgaleev.

The topic of the meeting will be “How I traveled around the world for free with chess and literature”.

Murtas Kazhgaleev was born in 1973 in Uralsk, Kazakhstan. In 2006, he was honoured as the Summer Asian Games champion in rapid chess. He won the Paris Open in 2006 and 2009, and the French Open Blitz Championship in 2009.

In 2015, Kazhgaleev ran the Moscow Marathon. In 2016, he scaled the Greater Chimgan Mountain (3309 m.)

Kazhgaleev is also engaged in blogging and journalism.

Since 2011 he has been living in Tashkent and has been fascinated by the work of the Ilkhom Theater.

This programme is available to youths aged 10 to 16. The meeting will take place in the foyer of the Ilkhom Theatre.

Participation is free!
